Meet Laura

II have been a proud, active member of the Aldie community for two decades. I am running for Supervisor in the Little River District because I believe in public service and am passionate about preserving your quality of life. I grew up on a farm with horses, goats, and sheep in Hopewell, New Jersey. I graduated from Bucknell University with a BA in biology and Fordham University with a master’s in marketing. In 2004, we moved to Northern Virginia so my husband could pursue his calling as a neurologist. We believed Aldie was the perfect place to put down roots and raise our family. Happily, we were right. We feel so fortunate to live in the Little River District. As a mom, I am proud that the Aldie community is where my three girls grew into beautiful young women. It is an honor to be in public service. While my family was young, I was actively involved in my daughters’ public-school PTAs. I was a founding member of the Coalition of Small Schools to keep Aldie Elementary School open to students and the community. As my girls grew, so did my commitment to the community. I have demonstrated my commitment to the stewardship of our historic resources, serving on the Aldie Heritage Association since 2013 and securing a grant to place the Arcola School on the National Register of Historic Places. Because of my service in the community, I was appointed to two Loudoun County Advisory Boards and Commissions: Parks, Recreation and Open Space Board and Heritage Commission. Since 2016, I have worked as a Legislative Aide to Phyllis Randall, Chair At-Large of the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors. In this role, I have acquired extensive land use knowledge and have helped constituents with complex issues countywide. The Little River District is the fastest-growing and most diverse district in Loudoun County, covering three distinct land-use policy areas. It requires an experienced public servant with the ability and knowledge to be effective from day one. I am that person. I will work hard for you. I will listen to your concerns and implement effective solutions. My priority is protecting your quality of life. Serving you as the Loudoun County Little River District Supervisor would be an honor. I look forward to meeting you on the campaign trail!
